Signspotting

I was driving in Miami County, Ohio, one day and this amusing sign caught my eye.

Doesn’t give you much warning, does it?

As a big fan of Lonely Planet’s Signspotting series, I felt I had to submit the picture to them for their consideration.

I was very excited to see it published in the August 10, 2007, edition of the Houston Chronicle on the first page of the Travel section. If I remember correctly, the caption referenced Shel Silverstein.

A month later I was even more excited to learn that Lonely Planet had included it on page 141 of their book Signspotting 2. Caption: “For some reason, I never imagined that sidewalks actually ended.”
