I took a lot of pictures of bugs this year. Here are some of my favorites.
First up is a lightning bug (or firefly, if you prefer) that was peeking into my kitchen window.

A grasshopper on a front porch post:

An ailanthus moth sharing a goldenrod patch with some colleagues.

Bugs love goldenrod! A Japanese beetle joins the fray.

I took a picture of this fellow from the safety of my car as he peeked through the driver’s side window.

A stink bug hurries around the perimeter of a yard waste bin. Stink bugs are sufficiently plentiful around here that some people joke that they are Indiana’s state bird.

A ladybug enjoys some poison hemlock.
